Melinda Kádár

Animation director, collaborator in audiovisual projects, lecturer

Experimental animation director, collaborator in audiovisual projects, and freelance animation creator. She is a guest lecturer at the Animation Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, where she primarily teaches software knowledge and experimental animation.

Kádár Melinda started her studies at the Sapientia University of Cluj-Napoca in the field of Photography, Film, and Media, though she did not graduate from there. However, she obtained two degrees from the Animation Department at MOME. In 2019, her graduation film The Source and the Tower received awards at several international festivals, and in 2020, Moholymotion, made in collaboration with the HEN animation collective, debuted at the Annecy Festival. Since 2020, she has been a guest lecturer at the Animation Department and occasionally teaches in the Graphic Design Department as well. Currently, she is working on her first feature film, Be Still My Heart.

Her obvious passion for abstract animation is complemented by less obvious interests, such as tarot, astrology, depth psychology, poetry, dance, and any other tools that make her feel part of a living, animated cosmos.
