Júlia Farkas
I am Júlia Farkas, an animation director and teacher. Over the years, I have been the supervisor and consultant for numerous award-winning
films, including Wish You Were Ear by Balogh Mirjana, which won the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlinale, and Volcano Island
by Lovrity Katalin. I have also supervised and consulted on several
other exceptional student films, further contributing to their success
on the international stage. As an educator, my goal is to help young
animators refine their artistic vision and storytelling skills while
navigating the professional landscape of the animation industry.
Beyond teaching, I have gained extensive experience as a creator
myself.
My animated short film Big Crunch was produced for Adult Swim, and I
have worked on commercial projects such as a 15-second spot for
MTV. I have collaborated with major clients, including Warner Bros.,
Wix, and Giphy, where my animations have collectively reached over
2.2 billion views.
In 2016, I received an Art Brutal French grant and participated in The
Animation Workshop’s development program in Denmark, where I
developed my 360-degree animation Gaia Mama. My passion for
animation extends beyond filmmaking—I continuously explore new formats
and storytelling approaches, whether in short-form content or experimental
projects.
