Judit Czakó

A multiple recipient of the Golden Scissors Award and the Balázs Béla Award, he is a Hungarian film editor who has been teaching at the Animation Department of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) since 2004. His courses focus on editorial thinking, editing dramaturgy, and shot planning; in addition, he consults on graduation films, which he also frequently edits himself.

He regularly collaborates with film directors such as Zsombor Dyga, Csaba Bollók, László Csáki, and Károly Ujj Mészáros. He enjoys being present during shoots, whether as a script supervisor or in other production roles, or simply to get to know and discuss the film and the footage.

Together with György Pálfi, he took part in a highly interesting experiment: he was one of the editors of Final Cut: Ladies and Gentlemen, alongside Károly Szalai, Nóra Richter, and Réka Lemhényi. Using nearly five hundred existing films, they created an entirely new one; the experiences gained from the project later resulted in a textbook published in 2014. The film had its international premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

He enjoys challenging himself in as many different styles as possible.
