Tibor Bánóczki
Tibor Bánóczki graduated from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design with an MA in Animation, then continued his studies at the National Film and Television School.
In 2007, Tibor began an artistic partnership and founded the studio Domestic Infelicity with Sarolta Szabó. They later moved to France, where they completed two animated short films, Les Conquérants and Leftover, both of which were selected for numerous international festivals, including Sundance Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Both films were shortlisted for the César Awards.
Their first animated feature, White Plastic Sky, premiered in 2023 at the Berlin International Film Festival in the Encounters Competition. The film screened at more than 70 international film festivals worldwide and was nominated for Best European Animated Feature Film at the European Film Awards and for Best Feature – Independent at the Annie Awards.
They are currently working on their second animated feature, The Wild and the Tame.
Tibor is currently the Head of the Animation Master’s Programme at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
