Balázs SZENTESIThe animated short, inspired by the short-story titled “Lugas időtlen” by Lajos Parti-Nagy, shows the pub-life of the countryside as well as the sanguine, melancholic, passive and active temperaments and their behaviours in public settings. Joe the Carpenter, as the sanguine character-type in the friend group, tells facts and affirmative sentences, while the passive Grey Sergeant always questions these affirmations. The melancholic Widow sinks into deep depression, while the active Titita lifts the mood, and serves as a buffer in the conflict between the characters. The setting of the story is the pub, which serves as a philosophical space, which gives opportunity to the main conflict: the meaning of life.
