Glasshouse
Written, directed and designed by Katalin SÁRDIA young woman dressed in pink waits at a train station. A young man appears with a car, the woman joins him and they hit the road. They arrive at a greenhouse complete with a movie set, camera and lights. The young woman goes back to the dressing room, she checks herself in the mirror, while a shadowy figure appears behind her. The man comes in and signals that they don’t have much time. The young woman glances at an older woman who appeared beside her, she was the shadowy figure in the mirror. The young woman greets the newcomer who needs a little support to be able to join them but agrees to start the project they came here to do.
The shooting starts in the green house, the director helps the women from behind the camera and their bodies open up. The clothing materials they have inside themselves start to intertwine into an art piece. The greenhouses’ space starts to react to the phenomenon, light covers the set and the plants start to grow golden sequins that begin to fall. The light blinds the man. As the two women separate, the older one starts to grasp as many golden sequins she can in ecstasy. The other one watches her stunned.
They leave the set in the car. The older woman is driving as the man in the back rests, he is trying to regain his sight. The young woman becomes troubled when she notices the two necklace pendants the women had before switched places and now she has the older womans’ pendant which symbolizes emptiness. The older woman watches the road with new motivations as the breaking dawn starts to light the sky.
