Réka Gacs

senior lecturer, animation film director, graphic designer, leader of the MA program

After finishing her studies at the ceramics department of the Secondary School for Fine and Applied Arts in Budapest, between 1996 and 1998 Réka was a guest student at the printed graphics department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts while studying for her MA in visual communication design at the animation department of the Hungarian University of Art and Design, Budapest (presently MOME). Between 2005 and 2007, she studied at the MA course of the CAAD / animation department at London-based Royal College of Art. Presently, Réka is a DLA student in multimedia art at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest (MOME).

Since 2010 she has been a assistant professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest, while also working as a lead graphic designer at Art1st Studio, Budapest. Between 2005 and 2007 she was represented director at Sweetworld TV Ltd. in London. Prior to that she worked as an art teacher at the animation department of the Hungarian University of Art and Design, Budapest (2001-2005), as a collaborator at Hauser & Wirth Gallery in London (2006), and so far since as a freelancer for international projects in animation, illustration and graphic design.
