In 1988 together with internationally renowned film director Csaba Varga, they set up their own film studio, the Varga Studio, the first privately-owned animated film studio in Hungary.
András was the CEO of Varga Holdings, which beside its studios in London and Budapest had subsidiaries in several other European countries. Varga Holdings was chosen in 1999 as one of the top 10 companies to watch, while in 2000 Varga Studio was named as one of the best 15 studios of the world.
He left the Varga Group in January 2004. Since 2002 he has been a member of the Board of the Hungarian Producers’ Association; from spring 2003 to autumn 2005 he was its Chief Secretary.
In the last decade he was listed twice by Animation Magazine as one of the 40 most influential producers in the animation world, while in 2000 he was voted as one of the top 13 movers and shakers in the industry.
In December 2005, together with two other partners, they bought the animation studio named Studio Baestarts, where currently he acts as Managing Director and Executive Producer/Producer.
From January 2012 till June András acted as the adviser of the Vice President of MTVA (Hungarian public broadcaster) in setting up their children division and children slot.
