Tibor Bánóczki

animation film director

Tibor Bánóczki holds an MA in Animation from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (1996-2004), and also from the Film and Television School, (2005-2007), London. Currently he is a DLA – Doctorate of Liberal Arts student at MOME.
He has a long working experinece as director and designer. He started hes career in the most prestigous Hungarian studio, called Pannonia Animation Film Studio, and worked also at Bermuda Shorts, London, UK, and at Folimage Studio in France.

In 2007 his graduation film on NFTS won the Special Jury Prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival, France, also the Grand Prize of Best Graduation Film of Ottawa International Animation Festival, and was nominated for the British Anmation Award for the Best Student film in UK 2008. His last film project Les Conquérants developed at Folimage won the CANAL+ Prize and the SACD Prize – Call for Project Competititon in 2009, was in official selection of Sundance, USA in 2012, and was preselected for César Awards 2013. He had recently an installation and online art project exhibition in Tate Modern, London, UK with the title This Exquisite Forest.
