Symphony No. 42 won the Hiroshima Prize!
Réka Bucsi’s 2013 MOME Anim diploma film, Symphony no. 42 was awarded with the Hiroshima prize at the International Animation Festival Hiroshima, which is the second most important prize of the festival. According to the jury, Réka’s film reflects to this year’s topic Love & Peace, while it is “Not a usual narrative film, but the author uses very experimental and new animation language”.
This year the International Animation Festival Hiroshima welcomed Hungary as its Guest of Honour Country with hundreds of Hungarian animation films screened. Three Hungarian films were in competition this year, they were each made at MOME Anim: Réka Bucsi’s Symphony No. 42 (2013), Paper World (2013) created by László Ruska and Dávid Ringeisen, as well as Bálint Gelley’s Hearth (2012).
